No neighbourhood is complete without a gourmet doughnut shop, right? Vandal Doughnuts had been a beloved staple on the Halifax side of the harbour for years. Expanding to downtown Dartmouth’s Portland Street was a Sidewalk match made in heaven (seriously–we had a perfectly pink, ideally located, storefront ready to go). Known for their fresh, locally sourced ingredients, inventive creations and rebellious ethos, Vandal Doughnuts has quickly become a cherished addition to the vibrant downtown Dartmouth community.

Relocating to Canada from the UK in 2016, restaurateur Zoey Boosey saw Halifax as the ideal place to create innovative culinary experiences. After acquiring award-winning Halifax waterfront restaurant, Sea Smoke, with Kent Scales in 2021, Zoey set her sights a new endeavour: gourmet doughnuts. With a team of talented pastry chefs behind them, Vandal is bringing couture-level doughnuts, baked fresh daily, to our neighbourhood.
